Custom AX development and modification is done with its own IDE, MorphX, which resides in the same client application that a normal day-to-day user would access, thus allowing development to take place on any instance of the client. Since the Dynamics AX 2012 version, development can also be performed in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 through a Visual Studio plugin. Download Dynamics 365 Server, version 9.0. This download also includes Dynamics 365 Reporting Extensions. After the download is complete, run Dynamics 365 Server Setup. During the setup, you may insert a valid commercial product key or use one of the following 90-day trial keys. To determine whether your organization had this update applied, check your Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online version number. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner, and then click About.
