Rane and Serato are proud to be supporting partners with the Rane Sixty-Two Mixer. For more than a decade, artists have chosen innovative Rane instruments to advance their art, and three generations of TTM series mixers have been the top pick for many of the world’s best performers. These mixers more tightly integrate performers, music, software, and hardware. The artist adds the passion, imagination and skills.
Internal 20-Channel Sound Card
Why so many channels? The Sixty-Two is able to simultaneously support control-signal pickup and playback for two DVS Decks, provide independent playback for the SP6 sample-player, record both program channels post fader, provide USB send and return for software effects insert and record the main mix, all at the same time.
The Sixty-Two has two USB ports, allowing simultaneous connection of two computers. Each port is completely independent. It is possible to run Serato DJ on one computer while running another DJ or DAW audio software on the other, Mac or PC.
Dual USB ports for simple DJ change over
DJ change over is as easy as 1-2-3! Plug your computer into the second USB port, switch the second program to your USB port, and then switch the first program when ready. This allows a quick, easy, and seamless transition of audio and MIDI from one DJ to the next.
Software controls for Library, Loops, Cues and SP6 sample player
Take advantage of the Sixty-Two’s tight integration with Serato DJ or Scratch Live and control the software from dedicated, MIDI mappable controls right on the mixer.
- Quickly browse your library and crates to load tracks.
- Create, modify and trigger your loops either automatically or manually.
- Set and trigger your cue points on the fly.
- Switch banks and trigger your samples with quick and easy to access sample triggers.
- Tweak the samples with the independent USB Aux playback channel level and filter controls.
Mixer controls MIDI and Audio routed to/from two USB ports
Each program source selector neatly switches both audio and MIDI from one computer to the next. This intelligent MIDI routing keeps MIDI information flowing to the right places so your MIDI mappings will never clash with the other DJ!
Magnetic Crossfader and Channel Faders
The proprietary Rane magnetic faders are fast, accurate, and long lasting.
The design uses non-contact technology previously reserved for demanding aerospace and industrial applications. No travel noise—no bleed—ever.
Rane’s magnetic faders accurately translate hand motion into precise audio level control. Non-contact fader technology is the only way to fully address the needs of the professional performance DJ.
Both channel faders and the crossfader are magnetic. These faders are easy to clean, and with proper maintenance, should last the life of the mixer. Should one become damaged, you can easily replace it. All three faders are interchangeable.
3-band Isolator EQs plus High-Pass/Low-Pass Filter for each program channel
Each program channel on the Sixty-Two has its own dedicated 3-band isolator EQs and dedicated High-Pass/Low-Pass filters. These controls let you take full control of your mix to accurately and precisely cut or boost any component of your track. Use the full cut EQs to tune it just the way you want it, or use the High-Pass/Low-Pass filter knob to quickly cut and boost with one turn. The filter allows you to blend, mix or add a unique effect to your track.
FlexFx Loop with six internal effects, analog loop and USB Insert
The Rane FlexFx Loop on the Sixty-Two is the ultimate solution for flexible control of your audio effects. The FlexFx Loop is an auxiliary bus dedicated to combining any number of programs and applying internal, external and software effects. This means you can quickly and easily add and remove audio, apply any of the six built-in, beat synchronized effects, add any external effects processors, and use the software effects of your choosing—all at the same time!
Includes Serato DJ software
Rane is pleased to announce that our products which previously included Serato Scratch Live software are now fully supported by and include Serato DJ software. DJs currently using Serato Scratch Live with supported Rane hardware have the option to migrate to the new and improved Serato DJ free of charge. If you’re familiar with Scratch Live, the transition to Serato DJ is easy and intuitive. Serato DJ is a free upgrade supporting the Sixty-One, Sixty-Two, Sixty-Eight, SL2, SL3, and SL4.

Upgrading is optional — Serato Scratch Live will still work with the Sixty-One, Sixty-Two, Sixty-Eight, SL2, SL3, and SL4. You can have both programs installed, and use one or the other. You can also use the included Core Audio and ASIO drivers to run any other popular DJ and DAW software program you like.

Ultra low latency core audio and asio drivers
Rane’s ultra low latency, multi-client ASIO and Core Audio drivers set the standard for USB streaming devices, working with all the major DJ and DAW software programs.
Rane ASIO (PC) and Core Audio (Mac) drivers allow use with multiple third-party software applications supporting Core Audio or ASIO. ASIO and Core Audio drivers are multi-client, meaning they allow multiple applications on a computer to share the device at the same time. When using a Rane product with Serato Scratch Live, proprietary Serato Audio Research drivers are used in place of Rane ASIO and Core Audio drivers. These drivers are used when Scratch Live is not running.
Take these industry standard drivers and unleash your Rane audio device on any professional software package of your choice. These drivers are fast and reliable, designed for professionals with demanding needs.

Scratch Live is a vinyl emulation software application created by New Zealand based Serato Audio Research, distributed by and licensed exclusively to Rane Corporation. Serato was first known for its Pro Tools plug-in, Pitch N Time, which was sold predominantly to the film industry.[1]
Scratch Live allows manipulation and playback of digital audio files using traditional vinyl turntables or CD players via special timecode vinyl records or CDs.
The product is discontinued and has been replaced by Serato DJ.
Video-SL[edit]
In 2008, Serato released the first major plugin for Scratch Live, Video-SL. It allows the playback of video files in similar fashion to audio files. Users can apply effects in real time and mix between video independently of audio.
A demo copy can be installed and used but a watermark is displayed on the main output screen. Activation is done via a serial number.
Video-SL was later replaced by a new designed video plugin called 'Serato Video'.
Custom hardware[edit]
Scratch Live currently works in conjunction with five application specific audio devices designed and manufactured for the system by Mukilteo, Washington-based Rane Corporation.
SL4[edit]
The latest audio interface is the SL4. It is the first standalone DJ interface with two USB 2.0 ports for seamless DJ changeover and back-to-back performances. It also has 96 kHz, 24-bit audio. The SL4 has built in galvanic isolation between USB and audio, with turn on/off muting. The unit also includes Low-latency ASIO and Core Audio drivers which allow the SL4 to be used as a studio production tool with third-party software applications.
SL3[edit]
The SL3 is another audio interface for Scratch Live. Features include a USB 2.0 interface, improved dynamic range (120 dB), improved audio performance (24 bit converters) and additional audio channels with AUX input and output. Like the SL2 it also has 48.0 kHz, 24-bit audio. The extra channel allows the DJ to record his/her music set, use a sampler while performing or connect a third player for three deck mixing.
SL2[edit]
The SL2 is the audio interface set to replace the older SL1 interface.[2] The unit has 2 inputs which can be used both as phono or line input, but unlike the old SL1 interface it doesn't have a microphone input and it has only 2 line outputs and no 'thru' outputs. It also features improvements to the sound quality. Whereas the SL1 interface had 16-bit 44.1 kHz audio, the SL2 now has 24-bit 48khZ audio with USB2.0 and Core Audio/ASIO support.[3]
SL1[edit]
The SL1 is a multi-channel, USB 1.1 external soundcard. The unit has inputs for two stereo turntables or CD players and one unbalanced microphone. There are two stereo line level outputs and two 'thru' outputs which provide a copy of the input signal to enable playback of regular vinyl records or CDs. ASIO drivers are available for the unit to allow it to be used by other Windows applications as a multi channel sound interface. There are no Core Audio drivers for Macintosh-based computers. The SL1 interface is no longer in production, but is still supported.[4]
MP4[edit]
A 19' rack mount DJ mixer based on the MP2, incorporating the sound card functions of the SL1. The MP4 allows you to record your set digitally within the Scratch Live software over the USB interface. The mixer is recognized by Windows as a 4x output 2x input soundcard so it can be used with any windows application. Also provided are ASIO and Core Audio drivers for use in audio applications on both Windows XP and Mac OS X.
TTM 57SL[edit]
A DJ mixer combining the functionality of the SL1 with an application specific control surface based on the popular TTM56 scratch mixer. It also contains added effects not available with the TTM56 or bare SL1 set-ups.
Sixty-Eight[edit]
Announced at NAMM 2010, the Sixty-Eight is a 4 channel club style mixer with 2 separate USB inputs. Via ScratchLive 2.0 it adds support for up 4 real or virtual deck combinations.
Supported third party accessories[edit]
Serato have begun working in supporting third party players/controllers with the Scratch Live software. These controllers are 'natively' supported and do not require the use of the timecode CDs, all playback and control information is sent over USB. The following are the currently supported native controllers:
- Denon DN-HC1000S
- Denon DN-HC4500
- Novation Dicer (versions 2.1 and above)
- Pioneer CDJ-2000 (versions 2.1 and above)
