Another reason some buyers ask for serial numbers is to verify whether it might be stolen. There are lists on the Web of stolen items (e.g., stolen notebook computers) and also registries where owners can put their names so that a future buyer can see the user history of the item. The user only has a record of the serial and activation code inside the database. After a virus clean up Act! 2010 is aksing for the serial number. Is there a way to get it from SwiftPages by supplying an email address? They also don't have any install media/files if that was needed. It works 100% and doesnt ask you to re-enter the password every time you open a project with serum in it. Feb 24, 2017 I am currently on day two of my 'three day trial' of the Splice rent to own program of Serum, but I haven't even gotten to experiment around with it because it is asking for a serial number.

I recently bought a WD SSD drive and wish to clone my HDD onto it. Going to the Western Digital site i downloaded the Acronis True Image WD Edition software. Unfortunately its asking for a serial number which i dont have, I was under the impression it would detect if a drive was WD and so shouldn't need one.

This has been a complete pain so far, can you advise (or provide a serial number)?

For completeness the drive is a WD Blue 3D NAND SSD, it is recognised in Windows Disk Manager

  1. Hello, Dear! This is the serial you were looking for. Dllkit PRO license key Added: 2017-06-03 by dllkit pro lice Rating - 42%, Yes - 3742, No - 5092.
  2. It will then ask you for a serial the first time you run it (or potentially every time, so make sure you keep the serial handy). I'm pretty sure their website.

Iain, welcome to these public User Forums.

See KB 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products which applies to all OEM versions of ATI supplied with hardware purchases. WD would need to provide a valid serial if one is needed.

AlwaysNumber

Note: OEM ATI may not correctly detect required make drives when connected externally via a dock or adapter, so the new SSD would need to be installed internally / in place of the original drive and the system booted from rescue media created from the installed app.

Note: the first section of the above KB document directs laptop users to KB 2931: How to clone a laptop hard drive - and has the following paragraph:

Serum Keeps Asking For Serial Number

It is recommended to put the new drive in the laptop first, and connect the old drive via USB. Otherwise you will may not be able to boot from the new cloned drive, as Acronis True Image will apply a bootability fix to the new disk and adjust the boot settings of the target drive to boot from USB. If the new disk is inside the laptop, the boot settings will be automatically adjusted to boot from internal disk. As such, hard disk bays cannot be used for target disks. For example, if you have a target hard disk (i.e. the new disk to which you clone, and from which you intend to boot the machine) in a bay, and not physically inside the laptop, the target hard disk will be unbootable after the cloning.
